The particle concentrations of Ti, Cu, Zn, and Ag bearing NPs in all mollusks (0.88-3.26 × 10 7 particles/g fresh weight) were much higher than that in the seawater (0.46-0.79 × 10 7 particles/mL), suggesting bio-accumulation of NPs. Results showed that Ti, Cu, Zn, and Ag bearing NPs were detected in all the five mollusks with the mean sizes at 65.4-70.9, 72.2-89.6, 97.8-108.3, and 42.9-51.0 nm, respectively. In this work, single particle inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (spICP-MS) was used to quantify the concentrations and size distributions of NPs in different marine mollusks (oysters, mussels, scallops, clams, and ark shells) from an offshore aquaculture farm. The exposure risk of metal-based nanoparticles (NPs) to marine organisms and related food safety have attracted increasing attention, but the actual concentrations of these NPs in seawater and marine organisms are unknown. 5 Stockbridge School of Agriculture, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, 01003, USA.Electronic address: 4 Institute of Coastal Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Marine Environment and Ecology, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, 266100, China. 3 Laboratory for Marine Ecology and Environmental Science, Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, Qingdao, 266071, China Institute of Coastal Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Marine Environment and Ecology, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, 266100, China.2 Institute of Environmental Processes and Pollution Control, School of Environmental and Civil Engineering, Jiangnan University, Wuxi, 214122, China. 1 College of Landscape Architecture and Forestry, Qingdao Agricultural University, Qingdao, 266100, China Laboratory for Marine Ecology and Environmental Science, Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, Qingdao, 266071, China Institute of Coastal Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Marine Environment and Ecology, Ocean University of China, Qingdao, 266100, China.

And this overview makes it easy to see who’s stuck somewhere. It’s simple: what will we do? What are we doing? What blocks us? And what is finished?Įach morning the team gets together for a few minutes to discuss progress. What started as rough sketches will end as pixel-perfect designs.Ī digital version of this process would be Invision. And with each big iteration of the solution we update the screens. After a test all team members collaboratively highlight their learnings via sticky notes. This wall is also useful for processing learning points from user tests. They prevent us from evaluating look and feel and help us stay focused on functionality. These sketches are very handy in client workshops when we discuss the broad strokes of the solution. In these, we sketch a little solution of all the steps in the app. Interface sketches are quick drawings of all our screens. We end by letting everyone vote in silence by placing dot stickers on the ideas that seem most promising.īased on all these results, a designer starts fleshing out a user interface that can later be discussed with the team. After that we take 30 minutes to sketch our own individual ideas of a final plan. This is followed by 20 minutes of sketching solutions separately. The process starts with a brainstorming session in which we spend 20 minutes thinking about the problem. I like using a Time Timer to make it crystal clear how much time is left at each step. There are four steps to get to the end result, and we timebox all of them to keep the energy high. This technique makes sure that everyone gets heard and has buy-in to the solution. We want all team members to contribute to the final product because everyone has different views that can be useful. If you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and order it now. They explain their innovation process in a book called Sprint – How to solve big problems and test new ideas in just five days. This technique is heavily inspired by the good folks at Google Ventures. This simple overview makes it easier for team members to divide the work and to see what work they are responsible for. Who’ll do what? Who’s responsible for which tasks? From then on the product owner and all the developers knew exactly what an album was. Things became clearer when we chose the label “albums”. Initially we referred to them as “sections”, “themes”, or “categories”, which caused confusion at times. There is less confusion about the core project concepts.įor example, in the app we built, there are sections with stories. With a common language our teams work more efficiently. The team chooses which stories to finish by the next milestone and which to ignore for now. User stories are also a practical tool to keep an overview of work in progress. Because they’re hand-drawn and hand-written, they’re also a friendly aid during prioritization workshops with clients. User stories help us to clearly see and prioritize the main project components. They are just simple sketches that we can easily throw away, or we can create new ones on the spot. User stories are explanations of what the project stakeholders can do. This big picture makes it easier to prioritize and to make day-to-day decisions.Ī digital version of this would be a Google calendar with automatic reminders in our Slack team chatbox. When is that user test again? And when are we doing that demo for the client?Ī simple visual overview of the milestones keeps the team aware of the important next steps. 6/19/2023 0 Comments Rescue team evil genius level 32It can get crazy having several levels going on. As you go through the playthrough, you can break through harder terrain and build upwards to make a taller building. One of them isn’t better than the other, so it’s all up to your personal preference. The three lairs you’re given are good looking and any three of the lairs are great choices. He makes more gold than any other genius, he can pull in more minions and his overall gameplay is in my opinion more entertaining than the other three. If I had to pick a minion I’d like to play again, I’d play Maximillian, as he was by far my favorite due to having the most power. You have the choice of four geniuses, Maximillian Von Klein, Red Ivan, Zalika and Emma. I won’t spoil the entire tutorial process because how much fun would that be? The basic run down of gameplay generally is to create rooms to house your minions, ensure there is power going to your evil lair, make sure you have somewhere to stash the cash and launch your research and development team. It wasn’t until I was left to my own evil planning that I found the tutorial very useful in what it taught me. Evil Genius 2: World Domination has many things to cover, and it gives a detailed tutorial that I didn’t enjoy from the get-go. The tutorial self admittingly is a long process compared to tutorials like in Tropico or Two Point Hospital. I felt that I may be at a disadvantage not playing the original, but Evil Genius 2: World Domination took me right through the process of how to be as evil as I can be. I haven’t played the original Evil Genius that released in 2004, so I walked into this pretty blind. Before we get into the good stuff, I will be upfront. 6/19/2023 0 Comments Iexplorer 4 crack for windowsIt handles the iPhone as it is a flash memory drive. It is also used to avail information occupy within the application or other dictionaries in your system. You can use its auto-transfer feature and copy each thing from iTunes. I’m focusing on finishing up Pocket Squirrel first so I can give it the care that it deserves and really get it to shine. So, for the time being, I’d like to thank you for your continued patience and excitement. It’s also almost finished! It’s fully playable from beginning to end, and my goal right now is to polish it from a solid mobile game into something truly great and unprecedented for mobile devices. What started as a simple mobile game has exploded into an open world, genre-bending meta-mobile squirrel RPG with 100+ hours of gameplay and story, and a huge cast of memorable characters. I’ve been working on it since 2017 alongside my friend iDubbbz. Katana ZERO is one of them, and Pocket Squirrel is another. You may also know that I’ve been working on multiple passion projects simultaneously over the past few years. There’s still quite a bit left to do, but I’m very happy with what’s been done so far. I think that’s about it for Katana ZERO updates. The 2 LP Vinyl of the KZ soundtrack produced by Fangamer is almost finished and should be ready to ship in the next 1-2 months. I’ve nearly finished some ports of the base game, which will soon be announced. Much of the gameplay, art and animation is completed, and some cutscenes have been fully animated and scripted. All of the gameplay and level mechanics have been completed, the writing is in its second draft, and a third of the levels are completed to varying degrees. We’ve made a good deal of progress so far. I’m really loving my time working on it, and I’ve been able to play around with some of the cooler narrative and gameplay ideas that I’ve toyed with since the very beginning. Rest assured that there’s a lot of really good stuff in here and I can’t wait for you to see it.Īs I’ve said before, the DLC won’t conclude the story of Katana ZERO, but it will explore some of the burning questions you may have. There’s so much that I wish I could share, but I don’t want to spoil the experience. Those are all great questions! But for now, I need to get back to work - these games aren’t going to make themselves!įirst, I’d like to thank everyone for their patience in waiting for the free Katana ZERO DLC. Who are these people, and what are they doing here? It shouldn’t be too much for a katana-wielding assassin to overcome though, especially with a few new toys he’ll find in the secretive New Mecca labs. They shoot bouncing bullets and have a couple of other tricks up their sleeves. Here, you’ll encounter New Mecca scientists. Our friends at Fangamer are working on re-pressing the Katana ZERO vinyl, so keep an eye out! The Government Lab Oh, and it also has a roguelike RPG dungeon crawler part now. It’s kind of like Pokemon meets Animal Crossing but taken in an entirely unique direction. Thanks for asking! As some of you know, I’ve been splitting my time between Katana ZERO and a mobile game I’m making called Pocket Squirrel. The DLC won’t be expanding anymore either - the plan is set and now we’re focused on finishing it. But don’t fret! The game is progressing at a healthy pace, and the whole dev team is working full steam on production. I’m also still doing all the programming and design myself - this is my passion project after all. There’s a ton of content finished, but this is a large project and I’m aspiring to the same level of quality and attention of the base game. Development took an unexpected slowdown last year, but things are normalizing now and I want to repay the fans who have given me so much. It’s (still) on the houseĭespite the significantly larger size, I’m still planning on releasing this for free. It’s less like a DLC and more like Katana 1.5. This means more levels, mechanics, enemies, bosses, and intertwined story elements. That’s a bit over half the size of the main game. That’s right! The free Katana ZERO DLC will be 6x the original planned size. I must admit, I wondered if he was going to deny me entry for having an Israeli stamp, but he didn't. The male agent was dressed in a dishdasha (traditional attire) had no expression, so he wasn't friendly nor mean. I made my way through the crowd and smoke to passport control, which was in the airport's new terminal (3). The terminal was old but still flashy with tile pillars. Some were wearing full-on white or black Arab garb, while others were dressed in colorful African wardrobes with headdresses. There were people from every different walk of life, all different shapes and sizes. Once I entered the main terminal, I felt like I was in the bar from Star Wars. On the bus ride I couldn't help noticing Abu Dhabi's control tower, which has to be the coolest designed tower of any airport. The best seats if traveling alone would be the windows, and the middle seats if you are traveling with a partner. The seats are staggered and placed in 1-2-1 configuration, so each one has direct aisle access. It's set up like no other airline I've ever seen, and it seems to have the most space and privacy of any cabins I've been in. The first thing I noticed when I boarded the A300-200 plane, besides the well-dressed and good-looking young flight attendants, was their unique business-class configuration. Random observation: There were a lot of Thai nationals flying in coach since transferring in UAE is usually cheaper than a nonstop flight to Bangkok. Then first-class passengers, followed by business class. Departure was scheduled for 9:30pm and Etihad boards coach class first, about 45 minutes prior. There was no line and it took 30 seconds or less to check bags (no charge) and get a boarding card. It began at check-in which was smooth as can be. I recently flew Etihad to Abu Dhabi (AUH) from Brussels (BRU) and was pleasantly surprised for the second time. East Coast to Asia you will want to consider flying Etihad or Emirates, since they tend to be cheaper and nicer than some nonstop flights on other airlines. The UAE is sort of in the middle of the world, and they are trying to leverage their location by acting as an air bridge between Europe, Asia, Australia, and the U.S. I never knew how geographically desirable the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was until I flew Etihad two years ago. Its North American gateways are Chicago, New York, and Toronto. The rulers of the UAE created Etihad in 2003 and now they fly to 59 cities on five of the seven continents (no South America or Antarctica) and have over 50 plush aircrafts ranging from A319s to B777s. The Abu Dhabi leaders figured they would mirror Emirates, which has been so successful in promoting their country, and start their own excellent airline. Well, this will soon change, since Etihad - which means "united" in Arabic - is making a name for itself. You've probably heard of Emirates Airlines, since it has been around since 1985, but you're likely unfamiliar with its regional competitor Etihad. 6/18/2023 0 Comments Torguard check ipYou can read TorGuard’s full privacy policy on its website. And since it doesn’t record any customer activity, there’s no way of authorities identifying individual users and their online activity. This is because TorGuard has a zero-logs policy, which means it wouldn’t have any user web logs to hand over to US authorities. TorGuard’s customer support did tell us that it would only comply with an “official court ordered ruling,” but even then, it would only be able to submit “blank hard drives.” This means the government can demand surveillance data from companies and share it with an intelligence agency without your knowledge. This is because the US is a member of the Five Eyes international intelligence-sharing alliance. The US is one the least privacy-friendly countries in the world. This isn’t uncommon with VPN service providers, though. There isn’t a lot of information available about TorGuard’s employees. In short, the company structure is rather unclear. Florida’s company registration website only lists “Losey PLLC” and “Title Authorized Member” as people associated with VPNetworks LLC. It’s founder and CEO, Benjamin Van Pelt, is the only employee we can find on LinkedIn. Since then, it’s never been acquired or merged with another company. TorGuard was founded in 2012 by VPNetworks LLC. However, TorGuard’s zero-logs policy should protect you from this. It’s part of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, which means your VPN usage logs could be stored and shared with government agencies in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The VPN service is based in the US, which is one of the worst jurisdictions for digital privacy. There are cheaper VPNs that offer access to streaming service in their basic plans. You can choose to upgrade your subscription to get a dedicated IP address or residential IP address to improve your chances of unblocking streaming service.īut this will cost you a lot more and isn’t the best value for your money. Read our ExpressVPN review, a streaming-optimized VPN On the plus side, its Manchester server successfully unblocked all UK streaming platforms, including BBC iPlayer, All 4, and ITV Player. In our latest tests, TorGuard’s standard servers failed to unblock any international Netflix libraries, Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max. We don’t recommend the VPN for unblocking streaming platforms. Subscribers also get access to a fully encrypted Chrome and Firefox browser extension and a DNS ad blocker. It offers the safest protocols, OpenVPN and WireGuard with AES-256 and Blowfish encryption. In our security tests, TorGuard never leaked our IP address and DNS. You also have to restart the app each time you enable the kill switch in order for it to register. TorGuard has a huge amount of customizable features. It promises “complete privacy,” and in this review we put this claim to the test. TorGuard is a well-established VPN service that was launched in 2012. |
